Hopi ear candling or ear candling uses cotton tubes, impregnated with beeswax, honey and therapeutic oils, that is painlessly inserted into the ear to sit at the entrance to the ear canal, no deeper. The ‘candle’ is set alight and as it burns it causes a flue to develop. Warm pure gases from the candle are sent into the ear, it melts ear wax which is then drawn out by the ‘flue’ action together with any impurities (dust,pollen, moisture etc).
